The Vienna Secession was an art movement formed in 1897 by a group of Austrian artists who had resigned from the Association of Austrian Artist. The group counted among it's members Gustave Klimt, Egon Schille and many more.
This painting shows a simplified map of Vienna and a depiction of the building that housed the movement. Those two are sorrounded by design elements favored by Klimt and a stylized depiction of some of the art in its interior.
